Spiced Turmeric Latte (Haldi Dood)
A slightly spicy subtly sweet drink that doubles as a cold busting remedy. A flavourful twist on the standard turmeric milk my mom used to feed me when I got sick as a child. Keep this one handy for cold and flu season.

Servings: 2
- 1 cup milk (dairy or non-dairy of choice - I like almond milk or oat milk)
- 1 cup water
- 1/4 tsp turmeric powder
- 1/8 tsp ground cardamom (optional)
- 1/8 tsp cinnamon
- 1/8 tsp ginger powder
- pinch black pepper
- pinch salt
- pinch nutmeg
- pinch saffron (optional)
- 1 tsp maple syrup or honey (optional)
Mix all the ingredients, except the maple syrup or honey in a small saucepan and heat over low heat till it just comes to a boil, stirring occasionally. Totally optional, but if you want to get a nice foam on top, use a high powered blender, or milk frother to get a nice foam before serving.
Serve warm, with a drizzle of maple syrup or honey and a light sprinkle of cinnamon over top.
